Additional Information: The sandalwood tree, Santalum album is a fragrant heartwood species native to India. There are other sandalwood species native from Indonesia, Australia and the South Pacific however, their fragrant components are completely different from that of the Indian Sandalwood and are considered of inferior quality in comparison. It takes from thirty to sixty years for a tree to fully mature so it can be cut and distilled. Due to its over-harvesting, the tree is now endangered and considered a protected species and the Indian government is placing strict regulations on its production and export. In my effort to protect the Indian sandalwood trees, and in my effort to only use products of the finest quality, I have decided to use a lab manufactured, hypoallergenic, sandalwood fragrance, rather than an essential oil in this soap.

Additional Information: Bamboo Exfoliating Powder (Bambusa Vulgaris Extract): obtained from the bamboo tabashi stems collected in the form of an exudate (a thick liquid) which crystallizes at room temperature. This crystalline powder is very rich in mineral salt and is a excellent source of silica. This powder makes a mild exfoliant. It is ground to 160 microns for a light gritty feel. Rose Clay a mild kaolin clay that can be used on normal to dry skin to gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin

Additional Information: Calendula (Calendula officinalis), dried flower, Egypt. Also known as Maravilla, Souci, Pot Marigold, Golds and Ruddles. The carotenoid-rich yellow to orange petals of this annual daisy have wide-ranging medicinal claims made for its petals, but little research has tested these assertions. The petals have been found to be anti-inflammatory, however. Carotenoids provide the distinct yellow to orange of the petals (beta-carotene, lycopene, violaxanthin and lutein). The infused oil is highly recommended for dry, mature skin as well as for skin sores, diaper rash and sunburn.
